Our vision at Little Stars Childcare Centre is to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment that inspires a love for learning and fosters the holistic development of each child. We strive to create a community where children feel safe, respected, and valued, while being encouraged to explore their individual interests and abilities. Our goal is to empower children with the skills and knowledge they need to become confident, curious, and independent learners, ready to take on the challenges of the world with enthusiasm and resilience.
Discover Our Passion for Early Childhood Education Little Stars Early Education Centre was formed on the lands of the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation. We acknowledge Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the Traditional Custodians of this country and their connection to the land, water and community in which we operate. We pay our respect to them, their cultures and customs both past and present. Educators work with integrity and trust, with children, families and each other. Educators are thoughtful and reflective, taking the time for themselves to recharge so their work practices are at their full potential. We recognise that educators are role models for the children and that they learn from us as examples. Educators demonstrate appropriate behaviour and communication, they are respectful, honest and work in a harmonious and calm manner. All children will have an equal opportunity to learn and will be respected and not discriminated against no matter what gender, age, ability, economic status, family structure, ethnicity, lifestyle, religion, culture or language. We will educate children about differences between children, families and communities and help to promote positive self-esteem in all children. We will ensure families with additional needs are included and will offer any support, guidance and assistance needed. Little Stars Early Education Centre, We value the importance of play because it is through play that children have fun, enjoy themselves and are able to express and let their creative side out. Play is important as it allows children to make decisions in a world dominated by adults which results in a happy and confident child that has a positive self-image of oneself. Play is a way that children are able to learn and investigate the world and also further their development in a fun way, this provides the child with a sense of power. Quality Improvement Plan is a summary of the key areas prioritised for improvement as well as including essential information about how your organisation will design, implement, manage, and assess quality. All aspects of the Quality Improvement Plan correlate to the identified root cause. A Quality Improvement Plan is an organization’s framework for developing and improving processes. A Quality Improvement plan includes an assessment by the provider of the quality of the practices of the service against the National Quality Standard and the National Regulations; and identifies any areas that the provider considers may require improvement; and contains a statement of philosophy of the service. QIP’S are completed so that services can self-assess, reflect and build on their performance as a whole in order to provide children with quality education and care, and to plan for future improvement that align with the NQS. Your QIP should demonstrate your ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and how you will continue to explore opportunities to improve quality – this is especially important for services previously rated Meeting or Exceeding NQS. As we are currently sitting at a Meeting rating, we are working on to ensure that we work to getting exceeding in our next Assessment and Rating. Meeting- what does this rating mean? This means that we are meeting all 7 national quality standards (NQS) that the department of education set out for all Early learning services. In order to move from Meeting Exceeding, the service needs to unpack and work on achieving 14 exceeding themes, that is analysed, embedded, reflected on and clear throughout the services quality Improvement plan (QIP)- (front area display) as well as throughout the learning rooms. Exceeding Themes represent the gold standard in early childhood education and care. Understanding how to embed these themes into your daily practice is essential for services aiming to exceed ACECQA’s standards and deliver exceptional outcomes for children and families. Our practices align with the National Quality Standard (NQS), particularly: We uphold all of the 11 Child Safe Standards, actively working to create a child-centred culture of safety, equity, and empowerment. Children are encouraged to have a voice, express their feelings, and participate in decisions that affect them. Our Commitment to Your Child’s Safety and Wellbeing
We prioritise each child’s safety and wellbeing by embedding the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework V2.0 (EYLF), and the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework (VEYLDF) which recognises wellbeing as a key outcome for children’s learning. Through strong, respectful relationships and consistent emotional support, we help children develop the skills to understand, express, and regulate their emotions, as well have having the ability and confidence to have their voices heard.
