Our Curriculum Approach

At Little Stars, our curriculum approach we believe in nurturing the whole child heart, mind, and spirit within a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment. We work closely with families to create a space where every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to learn.

Our community of educators, families, and children share and model important values such as kindness, cooperation, patience, resilience, and respect for all cultures. Together, we build strong, meaningful relationships that help children grow into confident, caring individuals.

Learning Together

We believe that families are a child’s first and most important teachers. That’s why we encourage open communication and shared learning. Families are always welcome to be involved, ask questions, and have their voices heard. We want you to feel informed and empowered as your child grows and learns.
At Little Stars, we are committed to continuously learning and growing as a community. We recognise the importance of looking through many different lenses to understand and support every child’s unique journey especially those from underrepresented marginalised communities.

We actively reflect on our practices and listen to the diverse voices within our community. By doing this, we can better meet the needs of all children and families, ensuring that everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

Our goal is to create a space where every child has the opportunity to thrive no matter their background, identity, or lived experience. We believe that by working together as a learning community educators, families, and children we can build a more suitable, inclusive, and supportive environment for all.

Our Educational Approach

Our teaching is inspired by well-known and respected philosophies, such as the Montessori and Reggio Emilia approaches. These methods encourage children to explore, create, and engage with the world in meaningful ways. Learning at Little Stars is hands-on, playful, and deeply connected to children’s natural curiosity.
We also draw on the work of leading education experts:

Lev Vygotsky

Lev Vygotsky taught us that children learn best through social interactions and strong relationships. His idea of the Zone of Proximal Development reminds us that with support from caring adults and peers, children can reach new levels of understanding.

Jean Piaget

Jean Piaget explored how children develop thinking skills by exploring their world. His work helps us understand the importance of letting children learn at their own pace and in ways that make sense to them.

John Dewey

John Dewey believed that learning should be based on experience. He encouraged children to ask questions, follow their interests, and reflect on what they learn. His ideas help us create a learning environment where children move freely, make choices, and build knowledge in many different ways.

Carla Rinaldi

Carla Rinaldi, a key figure in the Reggio Emilia approach, reminds us that education isn’t just about school it’s about building responsible, thoughtful citizens who care about their communities and their futures.

Growing With Heart

At Little Stars, we know that the early years from birth to age 8 are some of the most important in a child’s life. These years lay the foundation for how children think, learn, and relate to others.

That’s why we focus on more than just academic skills. We help children develop empathy, emotional awareness, and a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.

A Partnership with Families

When families and educators work together, children thrive. We’re proud to partner with you to provide a consistent, caring environment where every child can feel confident, curious, and supported.

Together, we’re not just teaching children we’re helping them become their best selves.
